Before starting work on the US peace plan to end Russia's war against Ukraine, it is necessary to know who its author is, according to a post by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the social network X.

The Polish prime minister noted that together with the leaders of Europe, Canada, and Japan, his country expressed readiness to work on the 28-point US peace plan, "despite some reservations."

"However, before we start our work, it would be good to know for sure who is the author of the plan and where was it created," Tusk emphasized.

US peace plan

American and Russian officials developed a peace plan aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.

It consists of 28 points and envisions, among other things, transferring part of the Donbas territories to Russia in exchange for providing Ukraine and the EU with long-term security guarantees, reducing the size of the Ukrainian army, abandoning long-range weapons, and more.

In addition, it became known that Russians were likely involved in drafting the plan — some odd phrases in the document suggest this. Western media suspected that several of them appeared to have been originally written in Russian.

US officials warned NATO allies that they would put pressure on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to make him sign a peace agreement with Russia by November 27. Otherwise, Ukraine will face "much worse conditions."

Also today, senior officials from Ukraine and the US began consultations in Geneva regarding the plan. European representatives will also attend the meeting.

In addition, European leaders have developed their own proposals for a peace settlement of the war in Ukraine. They envision restoring Kyiv’s control over key strategic sites without restrictions on the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
