Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed his concern about the ideas that were voiced at a rally of the far-right party Alternative for Germany the day before.

Yesterday, January 25, the AfD (Alternative for Germany) party held a large election event in Halle, where, in particular, Elon Musk, an ally of the US president and billionaire, spoke via video. Among other things, he said that too much attention is paid to the guilt over Germany's past and that it should be left in the past.

"The words about the 'great Germany' and the 'need to forget the guilt of the Germans for Nazi crimes' that we heard from the main actors of the AfD rally sounded too familiar and ominous. Especially a few hours before the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz," Tusk commented.

RBC-Ukraine wrote in more detail about how Elon Musk joined the launch of the election campaign of the far-right AfD party.

Federal elections in Germany

The Bundestag elections will be held next month, on February 23.

The intensive phase of the election campaign has now begun. According to the polls, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) continues to lead the AfD by a wide margin, while the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), led by Christian Lindner, the party from which Olaf Scholz is running for chancellor again, has to worry about getting into parliament.
