In Türkiye, the Grok artificial intelligence chatbot developed by Elon Musk's company xAI has been blocked. The reason: offensive responses about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, reports Reuters.

On Wednesday, a Turkish court ruled to restrict access to certain content generated by Grok, the chatbot created by Elon Musk’s company xAI.

According to Turkish authorities, the AI allegedly generated offensive responses directed at President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and religious values.

The Ankara Prosecutor General's Office announced the launch of an official investigation. This is the first case in the country of blocking AI-generated content under the law. According to Turkish legislation, insults directed at the president, Atatürk, or religion are considered criminal offenses, punishable by up to four years in prison.

Local media reports that Grok allegedly generated controversial responses when questions were asked in Turkish. The decision to block the chatbot was made following a request from the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK).

There have been no comments yet from X or Elon Musk.

Controversial Grok

It is worth noting that recently, Elon Musk's Grok chatbot made scandalous statements regarding Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust. The company is taking filtering measures.

Last weekend, the Grok chatbot was updated and began working more effectively to combat Russian propaganda.

In November 2023, Musk published an antisemitic post on the social media platform X. He accused members of the Jewish community of promoting "dialectical hatred" against white people.

Following this, several globally recognized companies suspended their activity on X.
