The strike on the oil terminal in Tuapse will have long-term consequences for Russia, as damage to strategic facilities will affect not only the export of crude oil but also companies’ confidence in Russian ports, according to Dmytro Pletenchuk, the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy.
According to Pletenchuk, apart from the direct damage to technological chains involved in shipment processes, the incident will also affect the business activity of companies that use these facilities.
“In addition to the direct damage to the technological chains involved in shipment, there will be a reaction among the companies that ship and refuel there. This means an increase in insurance premiums and, in general, it will discourage many from entering these ports,” Pletenchuk noted.
He added that these ports hold strategic importance for Russia, as up to 20% of the country’s crude oil exports passed through them.
Strike on the oil terminal in Tuapse
Previously, RBC-Ukraine reported that the Security Service of Ukraine, together with other security and defense forces, carried out a strike on the oil terminal in the Russian port of Tuapse (Krasnodar Krai).
It was also reported that on the night of November 2, unidentified drones again launched a massive attack on Russia. Residents of several Russian regions complained about the sounds of drones and explosions.
Later, it became known that electric substations in Russia were also targeted in the attack.
As later explained by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of November 1, 2025, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the infrastructure of the RN-Tuapse oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
