Trump will not stop weapons and aid supplies to Ukraine - Politico
Newly elected President Donald Trump will not deprive Ukraine of weapons or aid, even though he seeks a swift end to the war, according to Politico.
An anonymous source said that Kyiv currently believes Trump could be a better option than his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris.
“At best, Harris would have maintained Joe Biden’s approach — that would have been her policy, and it would have amounted to Ukraine’s slow death,” the source noted.
However, Trump, despite his desire to end the war quickly, does not intend to just throw in the towel.
The source added that the new President does not plan to cut Ukraine's weapons and supplies because he understands that the collapse of Ukraine would mean Russian President Vladimir Putin would not resolve the issue at the negotiating table.
"Trump has some self-interest in this," the source said.
Additionally, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated today that under Trump's administration, Russia’s war against Ukraine would end sooner.
Furthermore, according to a Fox News source, Donald Trump may soon appoint a special envoy for peace in Ukraine, who will lead negotiations with Russia to end the war.
