President Putin would look great if he resolved the conflict in Ukraine. And I think he’s going to do it - we’ll see, states US President Donald Trump.

The American leader emphasized that if Putin does not agree to a resolution, it will turn out badly for him.

When asked what lesson could be learned from negotiations and the peace process to apply in Moscow to try to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, Trump replied that the main thing is never to give up.

Trump urged people never to give up, noting that over 7,000 soldiers had been killed there the previous week, mostly regular troops, and, to be honest, slightly more Russians than Ukrainians. He added that, just think about it, every week they were losing between 5,000 and 7,000 soldiers, and said it was madness.

He also noted that he considered this issue one of the simplest. According to him, resolving a conflict that has lasted 31 or 32 years is theoretically much harder than settling a conflict that has lasted three years.

He added that this is a war that has been going on for three years, and it never should have started.

Trump also emphasized that the Ukrainians are holding very well and have shown themselves to be excellent fighters.

“I think President Putin would look great if he got this settled, and I think he’s going to settle it. If he doesn’t, it’s not going to be good for him,” Trump concluded.

Talks on Tomahawk missiles for Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump are negotiating the transfer of long‑range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine for strikes on targets deep inside Russia.

According to media reports, for several months, US intelligence has been providing Ukrainian intelligence with information on targets for missile strikes on Russian territory. In this way, the US is trying to pressure the Russian dictator into peace talks with Ukraine.

On October 11, Zelenskyy and Trump discussed the possibility of transferring Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine by phone.

The US president said he was prepared to supply missiles of this type to Ukraine, but would first discuss the matter with Putin.
