'Territory swap'
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that he plans to arrange a "territory swap" between Ukraine and Russia.
At the same time, Axios, citing sources, reported that the American leader considers a "territory swap" a necessary part of an agreement to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal wrote that Putin is demanding the withdrawal of Ukrainian defenders from the Donetsk region in order to achieve a ceasefire.
For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasized that he will not withdraw Ukrainian defenders from Donbas.
The head of state has also pointed out that a "territory swap" is a very complex issue that must be considered together with security guarantees for Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk has stated that a "territory swap" is prohibited both by Ukrainian legislation and by the Constitution.
