Trump to discuss possible land swap with Zelenskyy and European leaders

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump, and European leaders will discuss a possible territorial exchange at a White House meeting on August 18, Trump said during his talks with Zelenskyy and European leaders.
As Trump noted, one of the issues he will discuss with Zelenskyy and European leaders is security guarantees for Ukraine, specifically "who will do what."
According to the US President, European countries will assume a significant share of the security guarantees.
"We also need to discuss the possible exchanges of territory, taking into consideration the current line of contact. That means the war zone, the war lines that are now, pretty obvious, very sad, actually, to look at them and negotiating positions," Trump added.
Territorial concessions
Earlier, US President Donald Trump suggested that a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia could involve "some land swapping." At the same time, he stressed that Kyiv would be able to regain part of its land.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected the idea of territorial concessions, reminding that it is explicitly prohibited by the Constitution. He emphasized that Ukraine will not hand over land to Russia.
Meanwhile, according to media reports, Russian leader Vladimir Putin is demanding that Ukraine fully withdraw its troops from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in exchange for Russia’s promise to freeze the front line in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
