Trump tells Estonia's Karis that US will stay committed to Ukraine-Russia talks

US President Donald Trump assured Estonian President Alar Karis that the US would not withdraw from the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia, reports ERR.
The Estonian President shared that he had asked Trump about the progress of the peace settlement process. He also requested that the US do everything possible to remain a mediator in the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
"I inquired about the status of the peace settlement process and asked him to ensure that the process continues, so the US does not withdraw (as a mediator -ed.)," Karis stated.
According to him, Trump promised to do so and mentioned that the parties are already quite close to a resolution after his meeting with Zelenskyy.
"He promised to do this and said that we are very close to a decision, as he had just met with Zelenskyy. Of course, I didn’t ask him too many details about what came from that meeting," added the Estonian President.
