Trump's latest statements on the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Recently, US President Donald Trump stated that the Kremlin aims for the full occupation of Ukrainian territory and that Russia is not satisfied with the land it has already seized during the war. In an interview on the Meet the Press program, the American leader explained that in a future peace agreement with Kyiv, Moscow would have to give up the whole of Ukraine.
Trump also mentioned that if Russia does not change its behavior and the Kremlin does not move toward peace in Ukraine, he might sign Senator Lindsey Graham's bill imposing new sanctions against Russia.
These sanctions would include a 500% tariff on imports from countries purchasing Russian oil, oil products, natural gas, or uranium. Other sanctions, inspired by Senator Lindsey Graham and supported in the Senate, would prohibit US citizens from purchasing Russian sovereign debt.
Additionally, yesterday, President Trump reiterated that he needs time to respond to whether Putin is pulling his leg on the issue of a ceasefire in Ukraine and the end of the war.
