Trump suggests that he will give Putin deadline to agree on ceasefire with Ukraine

US President Donald Trump does not give Russian President Vladimir Putin a deadline to agree on a ceasefire with Ukraine. However, he expresses the opinion that such a deadline may be set for the Kremlin leader in the future, reports NBC News.
This is how the American leader responded to questions from the media regarding a possible time frame for Putin to agree to halt attacks as part of Trump's efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war.
At the same time, the US president expressed confidence that an agreement would be reached.
"Not a deadline, but I think we'll have one," he replied regarding the deadline.
According to Trump, they're going at it pretty heavy right now, as you probably saw both of them, but I think we'll have it done fairly soon.
The US president also denied the claim that Putin rejected the proposal from Washington, which had previously been agreed with Kyiv, regarding a 30-day ceasefire across the entire theater of war between Ukraine and Russia during a recent phone call.
Trump stated that the Russian President didn't reject anything. He added that there are very many sanctions against Russia, probably more sanctions than anyone else has.
Earlier, on March 21, at the White House, the US president expressed confidence that Russia's war against Ukraine will inevitably end, despite Putin not yet agreeing to the ceasefire proposal partially agreed upon by the US.
"We had a couple of good conversations today, and maybe we can get that death march stopped as soon as possible," Trump told reporters.
NBC News notes that it remains unclear which specific conversations the US president was referring to, but earlier this week, he had spoken with both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
After his conversation with Putin on March 18, Trump stated that the Kremlin leader allegedly agreed to temporarily halt attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
At the same time, Putin refused to immediately agree to the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire. This American initiative had been previously agreed upon by official Kyiv during a meeting between US and Ukrainian delegations in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
Additionally, on March 21, Trump expressed hope that there are already "frameworks" for an agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
