The United States will launch a very powerful strike against Iran on the evening of Thursday, June 11, US President Donald Trump stated on Truth Social.

"At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their oil and gas markets, much like we have with Venezuela," Trump wrote.

The American leader once again claimed that Iran’s navy, air force, radar systems, air defenses, and all other means of protection "are gone."

As previously reported, on June 9, Donald Trump said that Iranian forces had shot down a US AH-64 attack helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz the day before. In response, he threatened Tehran with further strikes.

During the night of June 10, the United States struck Iranian air defense systems, command centers, and several other military facilities. Following the attacks, Tehran claimed it had targeted American assets across the Middle East.

Trump later accused Iran of dragging out negotiations and said the country would have to "pay the price". He also warned that another strike was being prepared.

On Wednesday evening, US media reported that Trump had convened a meeting in the White House Situation Room to discuss resuming military operations. Among the options under consideration was a short but large-scale operation designed to increase pressure on Iran during ongoing negotiations.

Shortly afterward, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that a new strike could be carried out as early as within the next 24 hours.

During the night of June 11, the United States resumed bombing of Iranian territory.
