Donald Trump says US learns from Ukraine’s use of drones in war

US President Donald Trump said America is studying Ukraine’s use of drones in warfare, according to remarks he made to reporters.
Responding to a question, Trump noted that the war in Ukraine is being fought with drones in a way not seen before - and that the US is examining those lessons closely.
Trump stated that there hadn’t been a war of that scale since World War II and that it was the most significant development in the history of military affairs. He added that it was a completely new form of combat, a drone war, something that hadn’t existed before. He noted that he, Pete Hegseth, and others were studying it very closely, and that it was a completely new kind of war, albeit a brutal one.
US studies Ukraine’s drone experience
Earlier this year, in May, Trump said the US military is actively studying new methods of warfare, including the use of drones, drawing lessons from the conflict in Ukraine.
In July, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that Ukraine and the US are preparing to sign a major deal on the production and sale of drones.
Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine has proposed a drone deal to the US, which would enable the production of roughly 10 million drones per year.
“As for drones: the drone deal we prepared and proposed to the American side involves $50 billion over five years and 10 million drones per year. It’s a massive program. Probably, it will take off after the war,” Zelenskyy said.
He also added that Ukraine has developed a plan to procure $90 billion worth of US weaponry.
