The United States Army is actively studying new methods of warfare, particularly the use of drones in Ukraine as an example, US President Donald Trump says during his speech to graduates of the Military Academy West Point, in New York.

Trump also noted that the military profession is changing very rapidly, and the Russia-Ukraine war has demonstrated that.

"Because believe it or not you're in a business and profession where things change as rapidly like warfare... Unfortunately, we're getting to see it with Russia and Ukraine. And we're studying it and it's a very terrible thing to study, but we're seeing the different forms of warfare. We're seeing the drones that are coming down at angles and with speed and precision. We've never seen anything like it. We had never seen anything like it. And we're learning from it. But your profession changes very rapidly," Trump said during the speech.

Drones in Russia-Ukraine war

During Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the Ukrainian side has gained a technological edge, particularly in drones.

Last year, RBC-Ukraine conducted an interview with Oleksii Babenko, Founder of VYRIY Drone company. During the conversation, we explored how drones have changed the course of the war, becoming the most widespread means of striking the enemy, and how quickly a qualified drone pilot can be trained.

Furthermore, in March, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had successfully tested its own long-range drone capable of covering 3,000 kilometers.

Beyond such UAVs, Ukraine has also been successfully developing naval drones, which continue to pose a serious threat to Russian forces in the Black Sea. In particular, their deployment has played a key role in fighting with Russia's Black Sea Fleet.
