US President Donald Trump stated that the US has erased Iran from the face of the earth. He claims that Washington achieved its goals ahead of schedule, according to a post on his Truth Social platform.

According to Trump, American journalist David Sanger, one of the most renowned authors on US national security, is wrong in saying that Washington did not achieve its goals in the operation against Iran.

Moreover, Donald Trump praised his own accomplishments so highly that he says Iran wants a deal, but he does not.

“The United States has blown Iran off of the map, and yet their lightweight analyst, David Sanger, says that I haven’t met my own goals. Yes I have, and weeks ahead of schedule! Their leadership is gone, their navy and air force are dead, they have absolutely no defense, and they want to make a deal. I don’t” — writes the US leader.

Trump then reiterated that Washington is weeks ahead of schedule, and also criticized The New York Times (where David Sanger works) for its incompetent election coverage. The US president claims that publication is always wrong.

Trump is bluffing about not wanting a deal with Iran

A day earlier, Donald Trump stated that the US is considering reducing its military presence in the Middle East, noting that Washington has essentially achieved its set goals.

Later, the media reported that Trump is demanding trillions of dollars from Arab countries in the Persian Gulf. Specifically, there are two options: pay $2.5 trillion to stop the war, or $5 trillion to continue military operations.

Meanwhile, Axios reports that Trump’s team has begun discussing what future peace talks with Iran might look like. Washington is now trying to determine who it can talk to and make deals with.
