US President Donald Trump has threatened Iran with new bombings if an agreement is not reached within a certain timeframe during his speech at the G7 summit.

"It's a memorandum of understanding. If it doesn't get done in 60 days, that's alright. We go back to bombing," Trump said.

The US President noted that he does not want to take such action, as the situation has turned out very well.

"But we might have to, because we're never going to let them have a nuclear weapon," he said.

On June 14, Trump announced that a peace agreement had been reached between the US and Iran. The document provides for Tehran to restore free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the lifting of the US naval blockade on Iranian ports.

The signing of the memorandum is scheduled for June 19 in Geneva. Trump noted that following the formalization of the ceasefire, the parties will proceed to negotiations regarding the future of the Iranian nuclear program.

At the same time, Trump emphasized that the US could resume strikes on Iran if Washington and Tehran fail to reach a final agreement on the nuclear issue.

Additionally, CNN reported that Israel had approached the American side with a request to provide the text of the agreement with Iran, but was refused. Therefore, one of the key US allies currently lacks access to the contents of the document.
