Trump says suspect in Charlie Kirk's murder has been arrested

The suspect in the murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk was detained today, September 12, according to US President Donald Trump, reports CNN.
“I think with a high degree of certainty we have him in custody,” Trump said during an appearance on Fox News.
The American president stated that someone very close to him turned him in.
Trump added that detailed information will be announced today.

On Wednesday, September 10, during debates at Utah Valley University, about twenty minutes after the start of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk’s speech, gunshots were heard. The activist was hospitalized with injuries.
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, which, together with the FBI, is conducting the investigation, the shooter likely fired a single shot from the roof of a nearby building on the university campus as part of a targeted attack.
Later, US President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Kirk had died from the sustained injury.
After this, American investigators reported the detention of the suspected killer, but after questioning, the suspect was released.
Trump said that those involved in the murder of Charlie Kirk were being hunted and expressed hope they would be detained soon.
