The relations between Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are terrible. However, a solution to end the war will be found, states US President Donald Trump.

During the conversation, he again said that he is very disappointed in Putin and had believed that, thanks to his relationship with him, resolving the situation with Russia’s war against Ukraine would be easiest. However, it turned out to be the opposite.

Trump said that it had turned out to be the hardest, noting that the relations between President Putin and President Zelenskyy were terrible. He explained that much of the effort to end the war probably depended on their relationship, but the two leaders really did not like each other and even hated one another. He added that it remained to be seen what would happen next, though he believed a solution would be found.

He also spoke about economic pressure on Russia. According to the White House chief, he was dissatisfied with the EU and NATO when he saw that they were buying oil from Russia.

Trump added that if Russian oil prices fall, the Kremlin will have no choice but to agree to end the war.

The US president said that he had taken a tough stance on India because the country was buying oil. He explained that if oil prices dropped or if Russia stopped selling oil, the Kremlin would have no choice but to negotiate.

Returning to the EU and NATO, Trump again emphasized that buying Russian oil is not the best course of action and should not happen.

Trump concluded that if one wanted to win, they should not buy oil from Russia. He added that it remained to be seen how everything would unfold and expressed hope that the situation would turn out fine.

Putin let Trump down, so he may respond with sanctions

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump stated that Putin had let him down regarding the resolution of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

“The one that I thought would be easiest would be because of my relationship with President Putin, but he’s let me down, he’s really let me down. It was going to be Russia and Ukraine. But we’ll see how that turns out,” the US leader said at a press conference.

It should also be noted that recently, citing an unnamed EU diplomat, Politico reported that Trump has decided to pressure Russia using sanctions.

Furthermore, the US president himself recently openly stated that the US could strike Russia through sanctions. The restrictions would target Russian oil and banks.
