Trump’s spokesperson says he does not declare victory prematurely
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is unlikely to declare victory before the election results are released, despite earlier reports from Western media suggesting his advisors had encouraged him to do so, reports NBC News.
In an interview with NBC News NOW, Trump’s campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt said he would monitor the voting tonight and address his supporters at the appropriate time.
This was Leavitt's response to reporters, who questioned whether she was confident that the former president would prematurely declare victory.
"I don’t think that will happen. I will leave it to him, and I believe that he’s going to declare victory and give a speech to his supporters, again, at the appropriate time," Leavitt said.
