Harris and Trump run neck and neck in seven key states
According to polls, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump are currently locked in an exceptionally tight race across seven key states, report The Washington Post and The New York Times.
The term key states (also referred to as swing states or battleground states) describes seven states where voters remain undecided until the final stages of each election. Voting results in these states often deliver a decisive victory to one of the candidates.
In each swing state, polling results are within the margin of error.

Trump's Advantage
Elon Musk plans to spend election night with Donald Trump, allowing the politician to monitor the vote count alongside the person in charge of one of the key information platforms, the social network X.
Musk is expected to be at Mar-a-Lago for some evening celebrations in Palm Beach, Florida. According to two individuals familiar with the plan, he will be part of a small group watching election results with Trump.
Democrats are concerned Musk may use his personal feed on X to spread misinformation about the election.
In recent weeks, the businessman has shared raw data on early voting, falsely suggesting Trump has an insurmountable lead in states like Pennsylvania.
Musk has also raised doubts about the reliability of voting machines.
