Pastor Mark Burns, who is considered a spiritual advisor to former US President Donald Trump, criticized Russia’s recent airstrikes on Ukraine, according to Burns’ page on the social media platform X.

He called the Russian attacks on Kyiv a blatant violation of international law and war crimes, as they are deliberately targeted at civilian areas and infrastructure.

"These assaults not only inflict devastating harm on innocent people but also undermine the fundamental principles of humanity and the rules of armed conflict, which prohibit the targeting of non-combatants," Burns wrote.

The pastor called on the international community to respond decisively to hold the responsible Russians accountable and protect the lives and rights of civilians caught in the crossfire.

Mark Burns is an American evangelical minister, televangelist, and politician who serves as the pastor of Harvest Praise & Worship Center in South Carolina.

Burns frequently represented Trump at his rallies during the politician’s 2016 presidential campaign. Until 2023, he was a board member of the organization Pastors for Trump.

Russian airstrikes

Over the past two days, Ukraine has endured the most powerful missile and drone attacks since the full-scale Russian invasion began.

On the night of Sunday, May 25, Russian forces struck 13 regions across the country. The attacks involved dozens of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as about 300 attack drones.

As a result of the assault, 12 people were killed and over 60 were wounded. Residential and industrial infrastructure objects were damaged and destroyed.

On the night of May 26, the Russian army again launched a massive attack on Ukraine using Shahed drones.

Explosions were heard in Odesa due to the work of air defense forces.
