Advisers to US President Donald Trump are increasingly urging him to limit spontaneous media appearances, as they are affecting negotiations and overall communication, The Wall Street Journal reports.

According to the outlet, concern within Trump’s team has intensified amid his public activity during the escalation in the Middle East and negotiations with Iran. The president often makes sharp or uncoordinated statements that may differ from the official position of the White House.

In particular, Trump has repeatedly called journalists and given comments without consulting advisers, sometimes making loud or controversial statements about the war and possible US actions.

According to sources, his closest aides have directly advised him to limit improvised interviews, as they only increase the sense of instability and create problems for communication with allies and the public.

Despite this, the president does not always follow these recommendations. As the publication notes, he sometimes even jokes with White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt that he has already told journalists important news that she only learns about after publication.

The article also states that Trump occasionally agrees to reduce such contacts with the press but later returns to his usual communication style.

Trump’s controversial statements

Recently, Donald Trump has repeatedly made sharp statements regarding a potential war with Iran, sparking widespread reaction and criticism. His rhetoric has often gone beyond traditional diplomacy and appeared as direct threats.

In particular, he said that “a whole civilization could die” if Tehran does not meet US demands, and warned of a “night og hell” if concessions are refused. At the same time, Trump suggested strikes on infrastructure and even spoke about the possibility of destroying all of Iran’s power plants.

In addition, he made controversial remarks about allies, including threatening to halt arms supplies to Ukraine if Europe does not support his initiatives. He also called on partners to take control of the Strait of Hormuz themselves and said countries should “take their own oil,” effectively distancing the US from its traditional role.
