Trump ramps up push to end war in Ukraine, Stubb says

US President Donald Trump and his team are doing more and more to bring Russia's war against Ukraine to an end as quickly as possible, according to Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
The Finnish leader believes that the situation surrounding efforts to resolve Russia's war against Ukraine has improved significantly since Trump returned to the White House.
"I think, of course, we are in a better place than we were before President Trump started. He doubled down on his efforts, over the past year and a half, to try to find the solution and establish peace with negotiators such as Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and many others," Stubb emphasized.
He also recalled that he had always been actively involved in diplomatic efforts and had worked closely with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
Stubb noted that most of the important processes took place at the back office, with their results not publicly announced.
The Finnish president also added that he had been actively involved in sharing information between the governments of Ukraine, the United States and European countries.
"I think he [Trump – ed.] is really working hard, and hopefully, we'll get a solution," Stubb concluded.
As previously reported, Donald Trump made a public appeal to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The US president also spoke about negotiations over Patriot missiles.
