A meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is unlikely to take place in the near future.
The former French President Nicolas Sarkozy arrived at the prison where he will serve his sentence. This is the first case in modern French history in which a former head of state has been imprisoned.

Trump does not plan to meet with Putin in near future - Axios
The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin is unlikely to take place anytime soon.
"No plans for President Trump to meet with President Putin in the immediate future," Ravid cites an unnamed White House official as saying.
The official clarified that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a productive call, so "an additional in-person meeting is not necessary."

"I cannot guarantee that an independent Polish court won't order the government to escort such an aircraft down to hand the suspect to the court in The Hague," Sikorski says on Radio Rodzina.
Japan appoints first female prime minister in history
The head of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party, Sanae Takaichi, has been elected as the country's 104th prime minister. She is the first woman to hold this position.
During the vote in the lower house of parliament, Takaichi received 237 votes out of 465. Her main rival, Constitutional Democratic Party leader Yoshihiko Noda, received 149 votes.
