Trump promised to end war in Ukraine within 24 hours but did not specify day - Kellogg

The US President's Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, joked about US leader Donald Trump's promises to end the Russian-Ukrainian war within 24 hours, according to Kellogg's speech at a Council on Foreign Relations event.
Kellogg was asked what changes in Russia's policy the United States is seeing if Moscow continues to make the same demands to end the war against Ukraine.
"Start of the changes we're talking that doesn't sound like much, but it's important that you've got leaders (of the US and Russia – ed.) talking. Who knows what they're (Russians - ed.) going to ask about, but that's a start. A starting point, it's not an end," Trump's special envoy responded.
Kellogg also recalled Trump's statement that Ukraine could potentially regain some of its territory.
"Remember, President Trump said he was going to end the war in 24 hours? We didn’t say what day, what year," Kellogg joked.
Trump's promises
Donald Trump had declared his intention to end Russia's war against Ukraine within 24 hours during his election campaign. However, after he took office, the timeline shifted significantly.
In particular, Trump's special envoy, Keith Kellogg, stated that he aims to find a solution to end the war within 100 days.
