Ukrainians are "doing pretty well" on the battlefield despite Russia being a large country with a significantly bigger military, stated US President Donald Trump.
The US leader stressed that Ukraine is doing "pretty well."
"Russia has a much bigger military. But they (Ukrainians - ed.) are doing pretty well. They are holding their ground," the President said.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that more than half of Russians want the war against Ukraine to end, as they see that Russia is not winning on the battlefield.
It should be noted that the analyst Janis Kluge calculated that the Kremlin’s military spending in the first quarter of 2026 set a new record. In particular, it increased by a third compared to 2025 and reached 5.91 trillion rubles, or 83.2 billion dollars.
Zelenskyy previously said that monthly losses of the Russian army on the front line amount to 30,000 to 35,000 servicemen. In some directions, the ratio of combat losses between Ukrainian and Russian forces reaches 1 to 8 in Ukraine’s favor.
In addition, the British intelligence service reported that since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost nearly 500,000 troops. It is noted that Russia is currently facing setbacks and is forced to retreat on the battlefield.
