White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz said that President Donald Trump would consider resuming aid to Ukraine “if peace talks are arranged and confidence-building measures are taken”, reports Reuters.

“I think if we can nail down these negotiations and move towards these negotiations, and in fact, put some confidence-building measures on the table, then the president will take a hard look at lifting this pause,” Waltz said.

US paused military aid to Ukraine

On the last day of February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the United States. During a meeting with Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, there was a clash.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Zelenskyy of disrupting efforts to negotiate peace. It was planned to sign an agreement between Ukraine and the United States on minerals. But it did not happen.

A few days ago, a number of Western media outlets reported that the administration of US President Donald Trump had suspended all military aid to Ukraine, including the aid approved by the Joe Biden administration.

Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the parliament's Defense Committee, told RBC-Ukraine that a closed-door meeting of the Verkhovna Rada's Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence discussed a negative scenario with the possible termination of US military aid to Ukraine.

Yesterday, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine seeks to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible to achieve a lasting peace.
