US President Donald Trump suggested that he might "think" about reducing US troops in Europe if it is needed to persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to conclude a peace agreement in Ukraine, Trump said.

When asked by journalists about a possible reduction of US troops in Europe, for example in Poland, Trump replied that he had not been asked such a question but would "think about" it later.

"I'll think about that for later, but it has not been put before me," the US President said.

According to Trump, Putin allegedly wants to reach an agreement on Ukraine during tomorrow's meeting. At the same time, the US President gives a 25% chance that the meeting in Alaska will end in failure. In the event of failure, new US sanctions await Russia.

At the same time, Trump believes that Russia is ready to conclude a peace agreement, but he does not plan to negotiate it himself. Trump wants Zelenskyy and Putin to agree on everything directly.

The meeting between Trump and Putin will take place tomorrow, August 15, in Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska. The talks will be held at the Elmendorf–Richardson military base.
