Trump makes new statement on Putin and strikes against Ukraine

US President Donald Trump is confident that Russian President Vladimir Putin will listen to him and refrain from launching further strikes on Ukraine, according to the Clash Report.
Journalists reminded Trump that earlier today, he told Putin to stop the attacks on Ukraine.
One reporter asked Trump whether he believes Putin will listen to him.
"I think Putin will listen to me on stopping strikes in Ukraine," Trump said.
What preceded it
Donald Trump voiced frustration after a massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine.
"I am not happy with the Russian strikes on Kyiv. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Let's get the Peace Deal DONE!" Trump wrote.
However, Trump did not clarify whether he was addressing Russian President Vladimir Putin or Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Peace talks
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio boycotted Ukraine peace talks in London, according to Reuters, after Kyiv refused to discuss territorial concessions before a full ceasefire. The move sparked concern among US officials seeking a deal with Russia.
President Zelenskyy reiterated that any peace talks must start with a full cessation of hostilities. He ruled out recognizing Crimea as part of Russia.
Trump, responding to Zelenskyy’s stance, warned it could block the peace process.
