US President Donald Trump is disappointed that Russia launched a missile strike on Kyiv. He demands an end to the war, according to Trump on Truth Social.

"I am not happy with the Russian strikes on Kyiv. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Let's get the Peace Deal DONE!" Trump wrote.

At the same time, the American leader did not specify which "Vladimir" he was addressing — the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin or the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Russia struck Kyiv last night, April 24. As of now, eight people are known to have died, and 90 have been injured.

US nervousness over Ukraine’s position

Let us recall that earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio boycotted the negotiations on Ukraine in London. After this, Reuters wrote that the Secretary of State made such a decision after Ukraine refused to discuss the issue of territories before a ceasefire.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that a full unconditional ceasefire must be the first step toward peace. And he will not recognize Crimea as Russian.

In turn, US President Donald Trump, commenting on Zelenskyy's statement about Crimea, declared that it allegedly harms peace efforts.

The American leader threatened that if Zelenskyy did not agree to peace now, the war would continue, and “in three years, he would lose the country.”

At the same time, the US does not apply corresponding pressure on Russia. According to EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas, Washington does not use pressure tools on the Russian Federation.
