"We feel that that is a correct story," the US President said.
He also said "most" of Iran's senior leadership is "gone," including many people who make decisions.
So far, neither Israel nor the US has officially confirmed Khamenei's death. However, international media reports that his body was found under the ruins of his residence in Tehran, which was destroyed by Israeli and US strikes early in the day.

Early on February 28, a major military operation by the United States and Israel targeted Iran. Tehran and several other Iranian cities came under strikes from American and Israeli missiles.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, nearly 200 Israeli aircraft took part in the operation, hitting approximately 500 targets across the country.
In addition to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, reports suggest that Iran's Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Mohammad Pakpour may have been killed in the strikes.
