Trump jokes that he might run for a third term
US president-elect Donald Trump spoke in the House of Representatives, jokingly mentioning a possible third term, ABC News informs.
"I suspect I won't be running again unless you do something else, unless you say he's so good we've got to figure something out,'" Trump said.
It’s worth noting that the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution strictly prohibits running for a third term. In practice, it will be impossible for Trump to cancel or bypass this amendment.
Trump's victory in the election
Last week, Donald Trump won the presidential election by a significant margin. His opponent, Kamala Harris, received several million fewer votes.
Trump's inauguration is expected to take place on January 20, 2025. Until then, Joe Biden remains the president.
Today, Trump and Biden met at the White House. They discussed the peaceful transfer of power.
This will be Trump's second term. He first became president in 2017. In 2020, he lost the election to Joe Biden.
