Trump invents reason why Russian tanks didn’t reach Kyiv in 2022

US president Donald Trump believes that Russian forces could have reached Kyiv within five hours in February 2022. In his view, expressed in an interview with Bret Baier on Fox News, this did not happen because Russian tanks got stuck in the mud.
"He's not looking good right now. And he wants to look good. Don't forget, it was supposed to be over in a week. If he hadn't gotten stuck in the mud with those army tanks all over the place, they would have been in Kyiv in about five hours," Trump said.
It is worth noting that in the same interview, Trump avoided directly answering whether he considers Russian dictator Vladimir Putin the main obstacle to peace. Instead, the US president repeated his statement about Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy lacking trumps in his hand.
"Listen, I had a rather difficult conversation with Zelenskyy because I didn't like what he said. And he didn't make it any easier. I've always said he has no trump cards. And he really doesn't Source," Trump said.
Trump wants to meet with Putin
US president Donald Trump earlier stated that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will not move forward without his meeting with Putin.
He later said he wants to meet with the Russian leader and that such a meeting needs to happen. The American leader also noted that his meeting with Putin would take place as soon as it could be arranged.
Trump also suggested that he might discuss a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine with Putin over the phone.
