US President Donald Trump is preparing for another medical examination. His frequent visits to doctors are drawing renewed attention to the American leader’s health, according to The Washington Post.

Donald Trump, who is nearly 80 years old, is set to undergo a scheduled medical checkup at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. This will already be his third or fourth visit to the facility in the past 13 months.

Such a number of medical examinations is unusual for presidential practice, as US presidents typically undergo comprehensive checkups only once a year. The frequency of the visits has intensified public attention to the politician’s physical and cognitive condition.

White House position and expert doubts

The US administration insists that Trump is in “excellent health” and has no limitations in carrying out his duties. White House doctors previously also described his health indicators as “exceptional.”

At the same time, independent medical experts question how complete the publicly released information is and point out that the White House has not disclosed the full scope of the procedures performed.

In particular, bruises on the president’s hands, periodic swelling in his legs, and episodes of fatigue during events have been noticed publicly. Trump was also previously diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency.

Doctors emphasize the importance of regularly assessing memory and decision-making speed for older world leaders. Trump himself has stated that he successfully passed cognitive tests and called for mandatory intelligence testing for all candidates.

Debate over Trump’s health

Media discussions about the health of the 79-year-old US president have intensified due to certain aspects of his behavior during public appearances.

Some doctors have suggested possible neurological disorders, including frontotemporal dementia. Physiotherapist Adam James believes that gait disturbances, slurred speech, and impulse control problems may indicate damage to the frontal lobe of the brain.

Earlier, Trump acknowledged taking high doses of aspirin, experiencing swelling in his limbs, and periodically dealing with hearing difficulties. At the same time, he insists that he remains in good shape.

In addition, after a previous medical examination, Trump’s doctor stated that the US president’s health was “exceptional” and that his cardiovascular age was 14 years younger than his actual age.
