US President Donald Trump has acknowledged that he takes high doses of aspirin, experiences swelling in his limbs, and periodically has hearing difficulties, while insisting that he remains in good shape, according to The Wall Street Journal.

According to Donald Trump, he takes large amounts of aspirin daily as a preventive measure against cardiovascular disease, despite doctors advising him to reduce the dosage. The US president acknowledged that this leads to bruising, particularly on his hands, which at times has to be concealed with makeup. He has nonetheless refused to cut back, explaining that he has been taking the medication for more than 25 years.

Trump also confirmed that he wore compression socks for a period due to ankle swelling, but later stopped using them because he disliked them.

In addition, The Wall Street Journal reports that the politician occasionally experiences hearing difficulties, with interlocutors sometimes needing to speak louder, especially during crowded events. Trump denies having a serious hearing impairment, saying such issues arise only in noisy environments.

In October, the US leader underwent CT scans of his cardiovascular system and abdominal cavity. His physician, Sean Barbabella, said no abnormalities were detected. Trump later said he regretted undergoing the tests, as they drew unnecessary attention to his health.

The White House doctor stated that the president is in an "exceptionally good condition" and fully fit to perform his duties. An ECG assessment estimated Trump’s cardiac age at about 65, despite his actual age of 79.

The report also notes that the president sleeps little, engages in minimal physical exercise aside from golf, and has not changed his diet. Trump attributes his high energy levels to good genetics and insists he does not experience serious health problems.

It was previously reported that Trump has chronic venous insufficiency. He also regularly undergoes medical check-ups at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
