The decision on potentially providing long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine has not yet been made. The final word is with US President Donald Trump, US Special Presidential Envoy Keith Kellogg reports on Fox News.

According to the journalist, last week, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked US President Donald Trump to supply long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.

“Are we giving them (Ukraine - ed.) the Tomahawks?” the journalist asked the Special Presidential Envoy.

In response, Kellogg emphasized that the decision to transfer these missiles has not been made and lies exclusively within the competence of the US President.

“Well, that decision hasn’t been made yet, but he asked. I know President Zelenskyy did ask for them, which was confirmed in a social media post by Vice President Vance. That's going to be up to the President (Trump - ed.) to do it,” Kellogg said.

In the same interview, Keith Kellogg also confirmed that the US leader considers it appropriate for Ukrainian forces to carry out long-range strikes on Russian territory.

Tomahawk missiles

These are long-range, high-precision cruise missiles mostly used by the US Navy.

They are capable of striking land targets hundreds of kilometers away, providing significant depth of strike. Tomahawks are considered among the most effective and accurate missiles in the world, able to destroy important military and strategic targets.

Tomahawk missiles for Ukraine

Over the past year, Ukraine has repeatedly raised the issue of supplying Tomahawk missiles and included them in the list of weapons it submitted several months ago.

Former US President Joe Biden previously refused to send these missiles to Ukraine, since they were part of Zelenskyy’s 10-point Victory Plan and could reach Moscow, which was considered too risky and might have led to an escalation of the conflict.

Recently, The Wall Street Journal wrote that Trump, during a meeting in New York, informed Zelenskyy of his willingness to lift restrictions on long-range strikes against Russia.
