US President Donald Trump is frustrated by the lack of progress in ending the war in Ukraine and is seeking a way to bring the parties to the negotiating table, states American political influencer Laura Loomer in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
According to Loomer, the American president is disappointed that he was unable to end the war on his first day in office, as he promised during the 2024 campaign.
She noted that Trump is eager to fulfill his promises and bring both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian leader Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table.
This is also influenced by the approaching midterm elections, which will determine whether Donald Trump becomes a "lame duck" in the final two years of his term.
Loomer emphasized that she sees different attitudes from the parties toward the peace process.
The influencer noted that Zelenskyy seemed much more willing and agreeable to reaching an agreement than Vladimir Putin and Lavrov, who sent their Russian proxies every week to spread propaganda in the American media.
She added that the behavior of the Russian leadership clearly demonstrates a lack of interest in peace.
Loomer emphasized that it was clear that they were not interested in a peace agreement and had no respect for the Trump administration.
Statements in the US regarding the war in Ukraine
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio previously stated that he doubts the possibility of a quick end to the war in Ukraine through negotiations, as there are currently no signs of an impending settlement.
At the same time, US President Donald Trump expressed the opposite view, stating that the war between Russia and Ukraine is nearing its end and a corresponding agreement will be signed soon.
Meanwhile, the head of the White House began to assert that he had never previously promised a swift end to the conflict, but can now assure that peace is approaching.
