Russia announced a visit by the US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff to Moscow in the near future. However, the exact date is not yet known, according to Russian media citing Kirill Dmitriev, special representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Witkoff plans to arrive in Russia on a visit in the near future," Russian media quoted Dmitriev as saying.
At the same time, he did not specify either the exact date of the visit or its possible purpose.
Earlier, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov also spoke about the upcoming trip of a Trump representative to Moscow.
So far, no official confirmation of the details of the upcoming visit has been released by the American side.
Witkoff invited to Ukraine
US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff has already visited Russia multiple times and held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, he has not yet been to Ukraine, so his possible arrival would be his first visit to Kyiv.
Back in April 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited American negotiators — Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff — to the Ukrainian capital, although no specific dates were named at that time.
In May, Volodymyr Zelenskyy again announced the planned visit of the US President Donald Trump's team to Kyiv. This happened after talks by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov in Miami.
According to the president, sides are "finalizing details of agreements that can ensure security." The issue of prisoner exchanges was also discussed during talks.
"Talks are meaningful. We are coordinating the schedule of necessary visits and expect representatives of the President of America in Kyiv at the turn of spring and summer. We hope that this time it will be possible to implement plans and intensify diplomacy," Zelenskyy said.
