Trump: Ending war in Ukraine may be more difficult than in Middle East

Ending Russia's war against Ukraine may prove more difficult than achieving peace in the Middle East, US President Donald Trump said during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
According to Trump, a peace agreement in the Middle East is already close to being concluded. After "tens of millions of people have been killed," there is a chance to end the war.
Trump also added that, at the same time, Russia’s war against Ukraine continues, and last week, "7,812 people were killed," mostly soldiers.
"It's a crazy — it's a crazy thing. I thought that would have been one of the easy ones. I get along very well with Putin, and I thought that would have been... I'm very disappointed in him because I thought this would have been an easy one to settle, but it's turned out to be maybe tougher than the Middle East. We'll see what happens with the Middle East," the president said.
Trump’s peace initiatives
US President Donald Trump has been trying to end Russia’s war against Ukraine since the start of his second presidential term.
In particular, he spoke several times with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and in August, they even met in Alaska.
Putin rejected Trump’s ideas for a complete ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, and after the meeting, he even intensified strikes on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.
Against this backdrop, the US leader admitted that the Kremlin chief let him down, and their "good relationship" means nothing.
