US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Politico, denied his son’s claim that the US might withdraw from peace negotiations over Ukraine. However, he once again mentioned the narrative about the mythical “$350 billion” for Ukraine and made several other confusing statements.

Trump said that thinking he would refuse to participate in Ukraine-Russia negotiations is “not quite correct.” At the same time, he complained that dealing with Russia is "not easy" and claimed that Russians are supposedly "much stronger."

"We have to ... you know, they have to play ball. If they don’t read agreements, potential agreements, you know, it’s, uh, not easy with Russia 'cause Russia has the upper ... upper hand. And they always did. They’re much bigger. They’re much stronger in that sense," the US president said.

Trump quickly added that he highly appreciates the efforts of the Ukrainian people and military "bravery and for the fighting and all of that," but, allegedly, "size will win". He also repeated that the casualty numbers are "just crazy," the war "would never have happened," and supposedly "millions of people are dead."

"You know, last month they lost 27,000 soldiers and some people from missiles being launched into Kyiv and other places," Trump claimed without providing any evidence.

Once again, the US president mentioned the repeatedly debunked claim about the mythical “$350 billion” that, according to Trump, 46th President Joe Biden supposedly gave to Ukraine. Trump also hinted that if the US had not helped Ukraine under Biden, Russia could already have won the war.

"And you know, if he wouldn’t have given it, maybe something else would’ve happened. But Putin has ... had no respect for Biden, and he had no respect for Zelenskyy, didn’t like Zelenskyy. They really hate each other. And part of the problem is they hate each other really a lot, you know. And it’s very hard for them to try and make a deal. It’s harder than most," Trump added.

Notably, in the same interview, Trump stated that elections should allegedly be held in Ukraine, implying a lack of democracy due to delays caused by the full-scale war.

Trump also made an openly pro-Russian statement regarding peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. According to the US president, the Russian regime supposedly holds more advantageous positions in the negotiations than Ukraine.
