Iran's military potential has been largely destroyed, as the country is still capable of carrying out targeted attacks on shipping routes, and the United States calls on global leaders to join in securing this strategic maritime artery, according to US leader Donald Trump.

Call to international community

Trump appealed to China, the UK, France, Japan, and South Korea to deploy naval vessels to the Strait of Hormuz for joint patrols.

"Many countries, especially those that are affected by Iran's attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending war ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe," he said.

Threat assessment, US actions

Trump said that although Tehran's main forces have been destroyed, the risk of small-scale sabotage remains due to actions by the country's leadership, which he described as "totally decapitated."

He noted that Iran can still easily send one or two drones or plant a mine along the waterway.

The US president emphasized Washington's determination to fully stabilize the region.

"The United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian boats and ships out of the water. One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait open, safe, and free," he said.

US operation against Iran

Earlier, President Trump stated that the main phase of the US military operation against Tehran was effectively completed within the first hour, as American forces immediately neutralized key targets.

However, reports later indicated that the United States does not intend to end the campaign against Iran soon, with Trump calling for further strikes.

Despite rapid initial successes, experts continue to analyze the conflict's long-term consequences and question whether the operation will achieve lasting stability, given the need for prolonged control over the region.
