Donald Trump may push Russia to negotiate and end the war with Ukraine, which seems more realistic than long-term peace in the Middle East, according to The Telegraph.

In his article for The Telegraph, international observer and Middle East expert Con Coughlin argues that it will be easier for Donald Trump to achieve peace between Ukraine and Russia than between Israel and Palestine, where the conflict has been going on for almost eight decades.

According to Coughlin, Trump is overly confident in the strength of the agreement reached between Israel and Hamas, which is already showing signs of collapse.

In contrast, Ukraine has a chance to use the current confidence of the US to put pressure on Russia and push Moscow to negotiate.

The observer highlights several factors that increase the likelihood of a ceasefire: the supply of American Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, capable of striking targets deep inside Russian territory, as well as increased tariff pressure on countries that purchase Russian oil, including India and China.

Coughlin notes that Putin has all the power necessary to comply with agreements, while Palestine lacks a unified leadership capable of maintaining the peace that has been achieved.

The expert emphasizes that even a temporary truce between Ukraine and Russia, however painful for both sides, may prove to be a more significant achievement than the eternal peace that Trump promoted in the Gaza Strip.

The Russians understand the value of diplomatic compromises, and with sufficient pressure from the US and its allies, Trump has a chance to force Putin to abandon his plans for a complete takeover of Ukraine and halt military action at the current positions.

The US has secured complete control over key sea routes and now plans to expand its fight against drug cartels, focusing on Venezuela and routes used to supply illegal substances.

US President Donald Trump called on Hamas to lay down its arms, stressing that otherwise forced disarmament was possible, and emphasized the importance of returning hostages and the bodies of those killed.
