In his Truth Social post, Trump highlighted the unlimited potential of the Board of Peace. He recounted the journey from presenting his plan to end the Gaza conflict to the creation of the Board and outlined the upcoming agenda.

"On February 19th, 2026, I will again be joined by Board of Peace Members at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C.," Trump wrote.

He said the summit will announce the amount allocated for Gaza's reconstruction and decisions regarding troop deployments.

"We will announce that member states have pledged more than $5 billion toward the Gaza humanitarian and reconstruction efforts, and have committed thousands of personnel... to maintain security and peace for Gazans," the US leader stated.

Trump also emphasized the importance of Hamas fulfilling its commitment to "full and immediate demilitarization."

Summarizing, the US president called the Board of Peace "the most consequential international body in history," and said it is an honor for him to serve as its chairman.

Board of Peace: What we know

Several weeks ago, Axios reported that the White House plans to use the February 19 meeting to implement the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and raise funds for reconstruction.

The Board of Peace was formally created on January 22, with representatives from fewer than 20 countries attending, notably without any major Western allies of the US.

Initially, the Board of Peace was meant to oversee Gaza's reconstruction following the conflict between Hamas and Israel. However, its charter does not limit its activities to this region. According to Trump, the Board's broader mission is to promote peace.
