US President Donald Trump said he would invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the G20 summit, which will be held in Miami. According to Trump, he sees no problem with this, according to Rapid Response 47 on Twitter (X).
During his conversation with the press, journalists asked Trump whether he would invite Zelenskyy to the G20 summit, given that the US had invited Russian President Vladimir Putin. The US leader responded briefly and clearly.
"I would — yeah, I would. No problem," the White House chief said.
Yesterday, October 31, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Zelenskyy's visit to the G20 summit depended on whether he received an invitation from Trump. At the time, he said that no final decision had been made yet.
The G20 summit is scheduled for December 14-15 in Miami. Earlier, in September, the US invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the event. Trump and Putin could potentially meet on the sidelines of the summit.
Following this, Zelenskyy proposed that Putin hold a meeting during the summit, but the Kremlin chief refused. Trump himself recently said that he did not know whether Putin would agree to a trilateral meeting in Miami.
In addition, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has already revealed that Trump and Putin could meet in just a few weeks. The talks could potentially take place on the sidelines of the APEC summit in China on November 18-19.
Trump recently announced an upcoming meeting with Zelenskyy and Putin. However, he did not specify when it would take place or whether it would be a trilateral meeting or separate meetings.
