New negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin could take place in a matter of weeks, states US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The US Secretary of State reported that he held negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
According to the American diplomat, the potential meeting between Trump and Putin was at the center of their attention.
As Rubio explained, new negotiations could take place during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. Importantly, it is scheduled for November 18–19 in China.
The head of US diplomacy stated that they had briefly discussed the possibility of a meeting between their leaders to hold negotiations at the APEC summit the following month.
Rubio also added that it is not yet known for certain whether the head of the Kremlin will attend the G20 summit in Miami.
Incidentally, Trump recently stated that he plans to hold a swift meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Despite this, the head of the White House has not yet disclosed where and when these negotiations might take place.
Trump recently made a new statement regarding the end of the war in Ukraine.
The head of the White House might delay the supply of Patriot missiles to Ukraine until after the US elections.
