Trump claims assassination attempt linked to Biden and Harris' rhetoric
US presidential candidate Donald Trump claims that the assassination attempt against him was made because of the rhetoric of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, according to CNN.
Trump said that the attacker “believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it.”
“Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out,” the former President noted.
Trump pointed to comments by Biden and Harris labeling him as a threat to democracy and said: “These are people that want to destroy our country.”
He also said that Biden and Harris "are the real threat.”
“They use highly inflammatory language. I can use it too — far better than they can — but I don’t,” Trump added.
