'Total inadequacy': Ukraine slams Russia's demand to destroy Western weapons

Russia's absurd demands for the destruction of all weapons supplied to Ukraine show a complete disregard for the diplomatic efforts of the United States, says Heorhii Tykhyi, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
"Russian officials make new absurd demands almost every day. Total inadequacy. Moscow shows complete disregard for the United States' efforts to end the war," he wrote.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko stated in an interview with Russian media that as part of any potential ceasefire agreement, Moscow would demand the dismantling and destruction of all weapons supplied to Ukraine by the West.
"All these surpluses must be destroyed. All international algorithms are known. They must be reduced, disposed of, and guaranteed," Grushko said.
US military aid to Ukraine
At the beginning of last month, the US Department of State notified Congress of a license for the export of weapons to Ukraine worth at least $50 million.
This marked the first approved arms deal under President Donald Trump's current term. Notably, since his return to the White House, no new US military aid packages for Ukraine have been formally recorded.
In addition, the United States approved the transfer of missiles from Germany to Ukraine, involving over 200 units.
