Timeline for completion of Bayraktar production plant in Ukraine announced
The construction of a Bayraktar drone production plant in Ukraine is planned to be completed by 2025. It will be ready in August, said CEO of Baykar Haluk Bayraktar in an interview with Reuters.
"We are 80% through with construction and machines are being ordered. Production date will be determined by the course of the war, but the facility will be ready in August 2025," Bayraktar said.
It is expected that several versions of the Bayraktar drone, TB2 and TB3, will be manufactured at this plant. These models differ in size, payload capacity, maximum speed, and more.
Construction of Bayraktar plant
In July of last year, then-Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin announced the start of construction for the Baykar plant in Ukraine, with plans to produce over 100 Bayraktar drones annually.
The company's CEO Haluk Bayraktar said that the plant is expected to be completed in 2025, but he did not disclose any more specific timelines.
Overall, an investment of $95.5 million is planned for the construction of the plant.
Additionally, Ukraine's Ambassador to Türkiye, Vasyl Bodnar, emphasized that the Baykar plant will only become operational in Ukraine after the war with Russia concludes.
Earlier, Reuters also released images of what the Baykar plant in Ukraine will look like.
