The Turkish company Baykar has started building a drone manufacturing plant in Ukraine. The company will produce Bayraktar drones of the TV2 or TV3 models, reports Reuters.

The plant will have an area of more than 30,000 square meters. Several hundred Ukrainian engineers and technicians will work on the production.

"Our factory is being built… we need about 12 months to finish construction and then we will move on to internal machinery, equipment, and organizational structure. The factory in Ukraine is a big one, we are planning to employ around 500 people," said Haluk Bayraktar, the head of the company.

Asked whether security concerns related to the current conflict could be a concern for the plant, Bayraktar said that plans are fully moving forward and that nothing can stop them.

The first models of Baykar's future center in Ukraine have already appeared in the media.

Earlier, the company said it would be able to produce 120 drones a year at the Ukrainian plant.

In addition to the highly sought-after Bayraktar TB2 model, the company also plans to manufacture the Akıncı heavy drone and the Kızılelma unmanned fighter aircraft, as well as other Baykar products.

It is worth reminding that Bayraktar drones helped the Ukrainian army to destroy enemy equipment at the beginning of the full-scale war and have repeatedly proved their effectiveness.
