In the Zaporizhzhia region, sentences were handed down to three collaborators who were collaborating with Russians on the occupied territory, reports the Zaporizhzhia Regional Administration.

MP from OPZZH

Notably, a seven-year prison term was handed down to a deputy from the 8th convocation of the Melitopol District Council, representing the banned political party OPZZh (Opposition Platform - For Life).

The incumbent deputy betrayed the people of Ukraine and sided with the aggressors after the occupation of a portion of the region. It has been established that following the onset of the full-scale invasion, she urged residents of the region to support the occupiers.

In return for her actions, the aggressors offered her the position of head of the office of the military-civil administration of the Melitopol district.

Two other collaborators

Another collaborator has been sentenced in absentia to 8 years of imprisonment. The traitor, a resident of Yakymivka, held the position of deputy head of the Yakymivska village administration of the Melitopol district.

Yet another hostile accomplice, who voluntarily assumed the position of head of the department for land resources and environmental safety in the illegally established authority of the aggressor state in the occupied Molochansk in June 2022, has received a 10-year prison sentence.

In their respective roles, these traitors actively support the activities of the occupying authorities, coordinating the actions of subordinate units in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region.

Trials of traitors and occupiers

Recently, Ukraine has sentenced four more occupiers to imprisonment, individuals who fought in the ranks of the Russian army in the conflict in the Donbas region.

Additionally, a court in Ukraine has handed down a verdict to blogger Yuriy Podolyats, who is currently in the Russian Federation and justifies the crimes of the occupiers. He has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
